visit to the Knitting and Stitch Show

29 Nov

I visited the Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate on Friday and had a good day.  I noticed that the organisers of the show are making a conscious effort  to encourage more people to sew.  Lots of the exhibits can be quite daunting as they are so skilled, but in the Learning zone, The First Steps Lounge and Upcycling Academy there are opportunities for everyone to have a go.  As usual I talked to lots of people!  The Crafts Council were well represented along with some Craft Guerillas and Sissy was there encouraging people to be creative with her streetstylesurgery.  It’s a pity that it is tucked away downstairs as I couldn’t find the stairs for a while  but that is a very minor grumble as there was a lot of enthusiastic activity!
